Albert Mann, Pinot Gris, 'Wineck-Schlossberg', Grand Cru, Alsace, France 2019
The wines of Albert Mann, an estate run by two brothers, Maurice and Jacky Barthelmé near Colmar, have long been impressive. It's not often that every wine produced by an estate gives so much joy to the drinker, and we are happy that our friends at Weygant Selections continues to bring us these gems to taste. This Pinot Gris is sourced from Wineck-Schlossberg, a historical Grand Cru vineyard- mentioned in texts from the 15th century. Here Pinot Gris is early-ripening due to the sunny character of the vineyard, which allows the grape to achieve full ripeness. In return the wine shows a lush body with intense length and great, crystal-clear finish.
