Hirsch 'Zöbing' Riesling, Kamptal, Austria 2019
If wines reflect the winemaker, Johannes Hirsch’s wines are full of energy and vitality. The fruit comes from the Heiligenstein vineyard, a terraced south and southwest facing slope with sandstone, volcanic conglomerates, fossilized plants, gravel and rhyolite. Just the minerals your Riesling wants. There is a solid core fresh and tangy fruit here, lemongrass and honeysuckle tie together the citrus on the finish. Winemaker Johannes even goes as far as to release these wines with two years of bottle age. Got dinner plans and don't know what to bring? This is your bottle.
