Peter Veyder-Malberg 'Hochrain,' Grüner Veltliner, Wachau, Austria 2021

Peter Veyder-Malberg is one the Wachau's low-key top-notch winemakers. He works quietly and diligently in his small cellar perched upon a picturesque slope in the town of Spitz.  Although his winemaking is considered 'hands-off,' every step of the winemaking process is given utmost attention to detail & it shows resulting in some of the region's most exquisite and mineral-driven expressions of Gruner & Riesling. 2021 was nothing short of an exceptional vintage, delivering wines of fine precision, intense mineral qualities, and impressive complexity.

Wines from this vineyard develop notes of spice, orchard fruit, and almond skin, offering up a savory component.
