The Vajra family needs no introduction amongst Piemontese wine lovers.  The family estate sits atop a village called Vergne, with the highest elevation in the commune of Barolo. Some of their vineyards were planted back in 1947.  This Barbera has a deep purple color. The nose is rich and vibrant, displaying purple flowers, blueberries, plum, and thyme. The palate is dense and layered, showing elegant acidity, ripe fruits and a lingering finish of savory herbs.
