Somos 'Naranjito', Verdelho, Skin Contact, Mclaren Vale, Australia 2020
Mauricio and Ben have been making wines together since 2013. They vinify climate appropriate grapes from growers who are practicing using organic and biodynamic methods. This undeniably orange wine is made using Verdelho, a native Spanish varietal, grown in the McLaren Vale South Australia. Half the grapes were macerated for a month before pressing into neutral oak barrels, the rest was left on the skins for 180 days before pressing. The result is a hazy orange wine heaping of ginger spice, tangerine, orange peel, baked pears, and hints of toffee.
Pairing: Triple cream and soft blue cheeses
Soil: Black Clay and Sand
