Albert Boxler Brut, Crémant d'Alsace, France 2017
Jean Boxler is many generations removed from his ancestor bearing the same name who in 1673 moved to Niedermorschwihr from Switzerland. Albert Boxler, his grandfather, bottled his first vintage under the family name in 1946 and not much about the winemaking has changed since then. This wine contains a quality of fruit that typically surpasses most Crémants meaning there’s need for little dosage making this wine creamy but still showing intense minerality.
Grapes: 50% Pinot Auxerrois, 30% Pinot Blanc, 20% Pinot Noir
Pairing: Oysters, Pool-side hangs
