Amaury Beaufort 'Le Jardinot XVIII', Brut Nature, Champagne, France NV
2018 is Amaury Beaufort's first solo venture. He is no strange to winemaking or the vineyards. Amaury worked alongside his father, André for many years. After finishing school in Beaune in 2005 he ventured into a few other projects until his first harvest on this small plot of land in Polisy in 2018. Stylistically, these wines are vinous and focused, comparable to that of Laval. The malo is blocked but the wines see a long elevage of 21 mo. in barrel. The vines are 55 years old and have never seen a chemical of any sort. Amaury has name this plot of land Le Jardinot. The color of this rosé is stunning, bright and bursting from the glass along with ripe strawberry fruits and chai spice. A lovely wine.
