In 2004 Piero Incisa della Rochetta purchased the first of Bodega Chacra's vineyards, a property with an exiting, though abandoned, Pinot Noir vineyard. Beginning in 2017 Piero open a new chapter for Bodega Chacra with a partnership with Jean-Marc Roulot of Domaine Roulot in Meursault, who makes every decision in the cellar. The Mainqué Chardonnay is fermented in barrel with only 70% Malolactic achieved, spending eleven months in mostly second and third use French oak barrels.
