Ah, Freisa, the relative to the great Nebbiolo. In the past, Freisa typically produced wines quite light in color but could be quite tannic and acidic. Today, winemakers have a better handle on the finicky grape variety. Brovia's secret here is old vines (c.1961) planted in the Villero cru. Brovia Freisa is always more profound & powerful than one expects from Freisa. This isn’t super tannic or hard to get into, but it’s more full-bodied than you might expect. It would age fairly well but I wouldn’t say it demands bottle age.
