Cantine Garrone is the sole producer exported to the USA from Valli Ossolone, a tiny appellation in northern Piedmont at the border with Switzerland, known for their local clone of Nebbiolo called Prunet. This almost unknown region has only recently gained it's own DOC status (2009). Most of these steep tiny parcels have vines over 100 years old which are grown on the local traditional pergola training system called 'Topia'. These wines are truly elegant, aromatic and precise mountain wines.
Grape: 50% Nebbiolo (Prunet), 30% Croatina, 20% Barbera
Soil: Glacial Schist (400-600 meters in elevation)
