Ischia, a volcanic island, just off the coast of Campania, near the city Naples, has much to offer with its wines. Freshness, warmth and that great Mediterranean salinity. Is also has, unknown grape varietals not found anywhere in the mainland- like this Forastera, which origins, like the many God Forsaken Italian grapes, have yet to be determined.
Cenatiempo was founded in 1945 and not much has changed over the last 70 years. The wine is still made from estate grapes as well as from some friends and neighbors throughout the island. And just like the early days, fermentation happens in steel or cement vats with indigenous yeasts with no intervention.
Grape: Forastera (Not to be confused with the Forastera found in the Canary Islands)
