Gerard Charvin and his son, Laurent, represent the quintessence of the small domaine/father and son team. They have only 8 Ha of Châteauneuf-duPape, and half of that they sell off to negociants, keeping only the best lots for the Châteauneuf of Domaine Charvin. The blanc is mostly Calairette with a tiny percentage of Bourboulenc from 50 year vines on a steep west facing hillside. Salinity, peach and honeysuckle all compliment each other nicely. The viscosity and weight of the wine is balanced by the acidity making this a wine that built to age or feel free to pull the cork right away!
