This estate has been around since 1200’s thus it is no surprise that their wines are infamous among wine enthusiasts. The 2011 vintage was perplexing for many vintners. The season started warm which promoted early growth however by mid-summer the vineyards were plagued with rain which lead to disease pressures come harvest time. Despite the challenges of the vintage, this wine is elegant with lively acid, fine tannins, and is velvet in texture. Dense red currant and dried flowers are the core of this wine which displays complexity and once again solidifies Chateau Cantemerle’s prominence in the region.
