Christian Tschida is 4th generation winemaker at his family's 10 hectare estate in Burgenland. The climate is controlled by the close proximity to Lake Neusiedler. Christian takes a hands-off approach to winemaking, where the wines spend a great deal of time in barrel in contact with oxygen, some for as many as 5 years before bottling.
This ‘Heaven and Earth’ red is a blend of Zweigelt and Cabernet Sauvignon grown in the gravelly schist soils east of Lake Neusiedlersee. The grapes are wild fermented in open top tanks then aged in large oak barrels for 2 years before bottling without any fining, filtration or additives. Some funk accompanied by dark brooding fruits.
