Located near the remote village of Tarrabuccetta, outside of Figari on the southern tip of Corsica. The appellation Corse Figari lies along a plateau just inland from the coast, where grapes have been farmed since the 5th century B.C. Figari is regarded as the most ancient growing region of Corsica. If there was such a thing as Island Burgundy, this would be it. The wine, in its current state, is quite young, so this is one for the cellar.
Grapes: Minustellu, Sciaccarellu, Carcaghjolu Neru
Pairing: When young, stir-fried veal, with some age truffle risotto
Soil: Limestone, chalk
