Clos de l'Ours 'L'Accent' Rosé, Provence, France 2022
Located in Northern Provence, L'Ours is a 13-hectare property owned by the Brotons family. The estate, surrounded by lush forests and vineyards, sits south of the village of Cotignac. The name "L'Ours" translates to "bear," which is the family identity and an endearing reference to their patriarch, Michel. Fabienne and Michel made the decision to follow their passion and sold their family jewelry business in Marseille. Their unwavering dedication and innovative vision quickly drew attention from renowned names in the region, such as Eloi Dürrbach of Domaine Trévallon, who recognized the potential for producing exceptional wines from their vineyards. The acclaimed oenologist, Daniel Abrial, previously of Domaine Tempier and La Bastide Blanche, oversees the winemaking and provides guidance as they master the craft. The wine is very dry and expressive, featuring notes of crushed stone, strawberries, and a creamy mid-palate, culminating in a long and mouthwatering finish. It is undoubtedly a step above the standard Provençal juice.
