Here we have a historic site, the second OLDEST producing Riesling vineyard in the Mosel with just over 1,000 vines planted in the year 1900!!!  This wine is the perfect encapsulation of the duplicitous nature of Mosel Riesling. Sourced from a tiny vineyard of roughly 1200 vines which miraculously survived 120 years, in between two houses in Ulli's home village of Alf. The vines are farmed in traditional "Einzelstöck", on red slate and clay. The 2020 iteration, as is normal, ended up in Feinherb equilibrium with about 17grams of RS - showing a touch lighter and fresher right out the gate than the 2019.
Grapes: Riesling
Pairings: Sweet Prawn, Fresh Crab, Sushi, Peking Duck
Soil: Slate
Farming: sustainable
