Naturale Bitter Vino NV
In the 40 + years since Giusto Occhipinti cofounded COS winery, he's gone from being a pioneer in natural winemaking to one of the most esteemed producers in all of Sicily. His latest project is Naturale Vermouths, a collaboration with his close friend and chocolate maker, Simone Sabaini, which was inspired by their mutual love of Sicily. This is their aromatized wine, made using 60% Nero d'Avola, 40% Frappato from the eastern side of the island infused with a blend of local botanicals. Lovely notes of sweet and sour cherry. The bitter sweet pull is attractive and very balanced - very Campari like. Great in an Americano or with just some club soda or tonic.
