De Forville Barbera d'Alba, Piedmont, Italy 2020
The DeForville family established themselves in the village of Barbaresco in 1860. Now, the fifth generation is in place, Valter and Paolo Anfosso, are controlling the nearly 11-ha domaine, growing the traditional Piedmontese grapes with organic practices. Their Barbera d'Alba embraces the grape trademark acidity, with lower tannin and notes of red berries, perfect pairing for hardier dishes.
