Domaine de Beudon Gamaret, Valais, Switzerland 2009
Domaine de Beudon is probably one of the most interesting wineries you will ever hear about, it certainly is for us. The property's history dates back to 1971 with Jacques Granges trekking up the steep slopes of Valais. Not only do his vineyards have limited access, unless you decide to take a three mile hike or test your luck on a precarious rail cart, but he was the first property in Switzerland to convert to biodynamic viticulture. There is much to say about his wines. They are thought provoking and profound without being over the top. These wines are subtle and quintessentially Swiss, which is why we love them so much.
