Domaine Collotte Cuvée Vieilles Vignes, Chambolle-Musigny, Burgundy, France 2019
This not so tiny domaine is run by Isabelle Collotte, whose family has deep roots in the village of Marsannay. Like her ancestors, she believes in the authenticity and purity of the region, making wines with minimal intervention. Deep rich and intense a remarkably generous village wine that punches well above its weight for both character and intensity.
Pairing: stuffed mushrooms, seared tuna with mild spiciness.
Grape: Pinot Noir, 40-50+ yo vines planted just beneath 1er cru vineyards in the lieu dits of Les Échanges and Les Athets, with a small proportion from the adjoining Les Chardannes and Les Herbues.
Soil: Clay Limestone
