Jean-Charles Abbatucci is as ubiquitous to the region as his wines. His heritage dates back to the French Revolution; in the capital city of Ajaccio, it’s hard to go anywhere without seeing the Abbatucci name, whether on monuments, street corners, or in wine bars. The wine is matured on its lees for six months, and its complex aromas and flavors are exemplary, with red berries, black fruits, yellow-fleshed fruits, and flowers on the nose giving way to a velvety texture with a hint of bay leaf. It is always released a year later.
