Domaine de Galouchey 'Vin de Jardin' Vin de France 2019

Domaine de Galouchey declassifies their Bordeaux vintage after vintage to a "table wine" in order to invite curiosity. Labeling the wine as 'Vin de Jardin' or 'Wine from the Garden' invited further curiosity.  This is in response to the "Vins de Garage" or "garage wines" trend, made popular in Saint-Emilion throughout the 1990s.  Since their vineyard is less than one hectare in size, it's more of a garden anyway.  This wine is full of savory red fruits, crushed leaves and wet earth.  A lovely expression of something a little different from Bordeaux.

Grapes: 75% Merlot, 7.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7.5% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot, 5% Carménère

Viticulture: The vineyard was planted in virgin soil and is farmed without herbicides, chemical fertilizers, or pesticides. The vines are now around fifteen years old. Harvest is manual and grapes are de-stemmed by hand and macerated in vats
