Domaine Fumey-Chatelain Pinot Noir, Jura, France 2019
If there is a cool kid winemaker in Jura right now, Marin is just that. Since taking the reins from his parents in 2015, Marin is making some of the most interesting artisanal wines the Jura has to offer. Vines date as far back as 70 years and many were propagated with sélection massale. Since 2017 the entire domaine has converted to organics. An ethereal, perfumed red with feather-light tannins, fragrant red fruit notes and a vivid, punchy acidity. This has the structure to drink well on its own or with light vegetarian dishes.
