Domaine Guion 'Prestige' Bourgueil, France 2017
In the 1950’s, the Guion family established their farm in the heart of the Bourgueil appellation. Since taking the reins from his father in 1994, Stéphane Guion has a put a much greater emphasis on viticulture, motivating many in the region to follow suit. This cuvée comes from 45 year old vines. This wine a more serious wine than domaine cuvée as it sees some time in neutral barrel adding complex aromas of dark fruits and a bit of a liqueur note on the nose. The palate is still fresh and full of energy just lending to a darker style.
