If you have heard of the grape Gringet, you have heard of Dominique Belluard. He's the leading producer with an unshakable focus on this nearly extinct grape variety. He's also one of the pioneers of the biodynamic movement and natural winemaking in the Savoie. His vineyards lay high in this Alpine region, very close to the Swiss border. The combination of terroir and Dominique's attention to Gringet makes for pure, elegant wines of great complexity and finesse. For his Sparkling wine, done in the traditional style of Champagne, but without the long lees contact, is bright with fresh fruitiness and just the right amount of weight. Sadly, Dominique left this earth in 2021. This is Dominique's last vintage that he oversaw from beginning to the end. The last he bottled himself. Everything else that comes after will be blended and bottled by someone else.
