The estate's founder, Edmond Vatan, was a legendary winemaker in Sancerre with almost 60 vintages to his name. In 2008, his daughter Anne Vatan-Foucault took over the Domaine. The Vatan family's expertise in producing high-end wines is well-known.

Their single-vineyard cuvée, Clos La Néore, is particularly famous. This Sauvignon Blanc is grown in a choice plot of the renowned Mont Damnés vineyard in Sancerre. Clos La Néore is highly sought-after and has a reputation for aging gracefully for many years. The estate only produces around 4,000 bottles of this exceptional wine annually.
