Based in the town of Bricco de Nieve, you will find the small estate of Fabio Gea. He keeps to himself, tending to the very small amount of land. His few rows of Nebbiolo, Dolcetto, Barbera, and Grignolino amount to less than one hectare.
In the cellar Fabio uses a mix of older large barrels (500L), glass, and steel. And he has been experimenting more and more with the "toilets" as he calls them - porcelain amphora that he has designed himself. Rather than toasting the barrels, Fabio "vaporizes" the wood oils and sugars by applying hot volcanic stones to the interior. These wine are powerful but full of finesse. Production is completely miniscule.
