G.D. Vajra Ravera Barolo, Italy 2017
Aldo Vajra took over his historic family winery at the young age of fifteen and despite his young age has kept the commitment to revive the family name while keeping the long traditions found in Barolo. The Ravera Barolo undergoes a long maceration process, 45 days, followed by maturation in neutral large Slavonian casks for 30 months. Ravera is situated at the confluence of fossilized marl and iron rich sand. This is a wine with finesse and remarkable complexity and yet soft power.
