I cannot think of a better value in 1er cru Chablis right now. Chalky, flinty, Meyer lemon, but not overtly fruity. Broad palate, crunchy fruits, long finish. This will hold up well in the cellar for the next 5-8 years.  - Kimberly's notes from her visit with Romain Collet

Domaine Costal/Henri Costal is a unique collaboration between Chablis producer Domaine Jean Collet and Kermit Lynch, with Romain Collet at the helm. During my visit in 2023, I was struck by the pure tension and energy of their Chablis. The project started with a barrel tasting with Kermit, which led to custom labeling, vinification, and bottling processes exclusively for the American market. The result was a terroir-driven Chablis. Owner Romain Collet discovered his great-grandfather's original label from when he founded the domaine in 2018 and proposed reviving it and using the Henri Costal name. If you like Raveneau, I strongly urge you to explore Costal.
