Isabel Ferrando 'Beatus Ille', Côtes du Rhône, France 2019
Isabel Ferrando’s reputation for outstanding wines has grown with every vintage since the purchase of the historic estate Domaine Saint-Préfert in Chateaunuf-du-Pape. This is Isabel other label, bottled under her own name, from grapes purchased from neighboring vineyards in the Rhône Valley. Isabel Ferrando Beatus Ille is mostly Grenache blended with about 15% Cinsault and a bit of Syrah from Châteauneuf-du-Pape. It’s 100% destemmed and fermented and aged in cement tanks. A beefier Côtes du Rhône, with brooding fruit and savory finish.
