Fabrizio Iuli is located in Montaldo, a small village in the yet lesser known region of Monferrato in Piemonte. Fabrizio, with the help of friends, established this small co-op in 1998 with a clear aim: combining their individual experiences in viticulture, selecting grapes, managing the land and winemaking to produce wines from Monferrato of the very highest standard. Barat is the latest addition to Iuli's range. It is made with 100% Baratuciat, a nearly-extinct variety originally from the Val di Susa, in the Alps of Piedmont. Fermented spontaneously with very low sulfites and aged in concrete vats. The end result is a dry Chenin-like elixir that is perfect for the cooler fall days.
Pairing: Hard salty cheese, sage gnocchi with light butter
