This wine’s name alone makes one almost forget that it hails from one of the most famous Grand Cru villages: Morey-Saint-Denis. Clos de la Roche produces Morey’s most robust wines. The wine is aged in oak for sixteen to eighteen months, using a fairly low proportion of new casks (under 20%). This Pinot Noir comes from old, organically grown vines. This wine is a complex mixture of black fruit, spice and coffee with very subtle hints of baking spice.
Pairing: Roasted game bird, creamy mushroom sauce
