After apprenticing under Egon Müller and Klaus Peter Keller, which is the equivalent to receiving your PhD from Harvard Law, Julian went on to start his own label in 2010. Since the first vintage his wines have been worth watching. The evolution is incredible, vintage after vintage the wines just get better and better. The estate has grown to a little more than four hectares and this is, roughly, where Julian wants it to stay. Part of the joy of winemaking, for Julian, is doing everything, just he and his wife Nadine, and maybe some friends. The Moselle Riesling comes essentially from the Piesporter Goldtröpfchen, with in addition grapes from the Wintricher Ohligsberg and Piesporter Günterslay, and was fermented down to barely off-dry levels of residual sugar. Julian's 2020ers are truly lovely wines. A Riesling lovers must try.
