Koehler Ruprecht Spätburgunder, Kabinett Trocken, Phalz, Germany 2018
Koehler Ruprecht's history dates back to the 1700s, but only within the last 30 years has the winery gained the attention it deserves. Dominik Sona has propelled the property to nearly cult status amongst enophiles. Sona vowed to allow the vineyards to speak for themselves in every glass. If you're not yet familiar with Pinot Noir from Germany, this bottle is an exceptional opportunity to do so. The fruit is pretty, light grainy tannin accompanied by a touch of wet earth & mushroom. Best enjoyed with a little chill.
Pairing: Dim Sum, fried chicken sandwich, Mushroom based dishes
Grape: Pinot Noir
Soil: Chalk, marl, sandstone, clay
