Damien Tiphaine is a third generation enologist in Montlouis-Sur-Loire, bringing precision to natural winemaking and using as few additives as possible, his goal is to evoke the precious terroir in its purest sense. In 2016, Damien was honored to follow the footsteps of his idol, François Chidaine, and take the lead of the appellation by becoming its current president. For this old vine Malbec, the vines ranging 115-120 years of age, fermentation using indigenous yeast for about 20 months in concrete tanks, followed by 9 months in a concrete egg to preserve the fruit. Not like your everyday Malbec but from a cooler area, preserving the beautiful fruit and secondary notes we love in Malbec.
