The product of Mast Sommelier, Larry Stone & Burgundy allstar Domonique Lafon. After the 2014 Napa quake Larry took to Oregon. Lingua Franca vineyards sit adjacent to two iconic vineyard sites in the Eola-Amity Hills, Seven Springs and Lone Star Vineyard. The site is rich Jory, Jory-Geldermann and Nekia soil lending tension and beauty to these wines. This wine is open and aromatic, with pretty scents of puff pastry and baked apples. White peach & apricot fruit are bright and concentrated with a flinty back bone. Full malolactic and one-quarter new French oak aging fresh a smooth, buttery finish.
Pairing: Subtle dishes, such as halibut with a chanterelle sauce, sablefish, turbot with a shellfish sauce.
Soil: 100% Jory soils in Dundee’s Durant and Willamette Valley Vineyards in Salem, Willakenzie vineyard in Yamhill-Carlton, with a contribution from Loubejac vineyard fruit near Monmouth, in Willakenzie and Dupee soils
Viticulture: Dry farmed & organic with biodynamic practices influencing much of their work
