Mas Jullien is a young estate with a long history deeply rooted in the hillsides of Languedoc. Olivier places his trust in the diversity of terroir, and he carefully observes and respects the environment, he even pulled out vines to replace with trees in an effort to re-store the balance of the ecosystem.  Lous Rougeos (Occitan for “Les Rougeots”) is Olivier’s highest-altitude vineyard, a west-facing plot situated above the village of Saint Privat at 400 to 450 meters altitude.   There is a really purity of fruit in these wines.  This one being particularly expressive of its Carignan component, bursting of ripe cherries and raspberries.  The tannins are supple & integrated with a long memorable finish.
