Michel Couvreur 'The Unique' Whisky, France NV
Michel was a Belgium man in the wine trade with an admiration for Scotch. In 1978 he built himself a cellar in Bouze-lès-Beaune, basically the middle of Burgundy, and began production. His focus was on the grains but more importantly the cask, sherry to be specific. After his passing in 2013, his loyal cellar-hand and confident, Jean-Arnaud Frantzen took charge along with his son in law Cyril Deschamps. This is most certainly a unique blend of unmalted & malted whiskies from Scotland as its base, no sherry cask used here, allowed to rest, within the deep cavernous damp cellars in Beaune. White flowers, marzipan & a touch of vanilla.
