Montevertine 'Le Pergole Torte' Rosso de Toscana, Italy 2018
Montevertine is situated in the heart of the Chianti district. Sergio Manetti acquired the estate in 1967. After planting two hectares of vines, he produced his first vintage in 1971. Due to Signor Manetti's refusal to incorporate Trebbiano into the Montevertine blend, the estate left the Chianti Classico denomination. Despite the formal lack of the appellation, Montevertine is one of the rare examples of a true Classico. One of the world finest expressions of Sangiovese.
