Montevertine Rosso di Toscana, Italy 2020

Montevertine Rosso di Toscana, Italy 2020
You can't get much more Chianti than Montevertini. In 1981 Sergio Manetti became fed up the rules of the DOCG and removed his winery from the governing body, as he refused to add Trebbiano to his Sangiovese. His wines focus on the beauty and structure of Sangiovese. His son Martino has been in charge of the estate since 2000 and the quality and consistency of these honest wines remain intact. Montevertine Rosso di Toscana is still lending beauty in this warm concentrated vintage. Dark tang fruit, anise and earth all compliment each other nicely here. The fruit for this bottling comes primarily from a 2.5 hectare parcel of vines planted in 1982 on a south – southeast facing slope.
