Noussan Fumin, Vallée d'Aoste, Italy 2018
Franco Noussan is producing wines out of an extension of his garage in the small picturesque Alpine village St. Christophe. Located just above the town of Aosta, in the Italian side of the Alps, bordering France. In fact, Francos dialect is closer to French than Italian. He is a professor at the local university and when not teaching, he likes to work in the vineyards and make wine and eaux-de-vie. His production is tiny but non the less special. All the focus on the indigenous grapes and the expression of this Alpine terroir. This red is insanely delicious with perfectly ripe dark fruits, wafts of black pepper, silky & juicy tannin with a lengthly finish. Take yourself on a trip to the Alps with this gem.
