Paul Bara and Bouzy are practically one and the same. Paul is a published historian of Bouzy and a founder of a producer group the Trésors de Champagne, responsible for the infamous Special Club bottlings. Paul is now retired, but he passed the direction of the estate over to his eldest daughter, Chantale, who has kept their family traditions and their house style very much alive. Paul Bara is one of the few RMs (récoltants-manipulants) One Kourt studio carries on the shelf, as we prefer to focus on the small growers, but this house brings exceptional quality and a similar eothos, akin to that of the small growers we love so much. Their champagne is profound and luxurious. Ripe, juicy red fruit, fine bead, and creamy lively texture.

Pairing: Perfect pairing for anything, everything, or nothing at all.

Grape: 80% Pinot Noir (12% Bouzy Rouge), 20% Chardonnay

Soil: Chalky limestone

Viticulture: Lutte Raisonne, Haute Valeur Environnementale (certified)

Review from Vinous -

The NV Brut Grand Rosé is fabulous. Bright and punchy, the Rosé fleshes out beautifully in the mid-palate and into the finish as the Pinot gains volume. The Grand Rosé has enough charm to drink well as an aperitif, but there is serious depth here too. Cranberry, orange peel, dried rose petal and a hint of cinnamon develop over time. The Grand Rosé is simply impeccable from start to finish. More importantly, it is absolutely delicious. Drinking window: 2020 - 2028
