Philip Lardot Pinot Gris, Mosel Germany 2022

Philip Lardot Pinot Gris, Mosel Germany 2022
We love Philip Lardot here at One Kourt Studio. We love his passion and his eccentric outlook on what Mosel wine should be. After being convinced to pack up and move to the Mosel, the Finnish-born, Amsterdam raised, Philip Lardot embarked in a path of no return, as in he is the one being groomed to take over the famed Ulli Stein's vineyards and cellar. But that story is for the future. Meanwhile, Philip is making his own wine alongside Stein's under his own label. The grapes from this tiny .15 hectares of Pinot Gris were de-stemmed, crushed and fermented on the skins for nine days. The cap was only gently turned a little, by hand, once a day. The idea is not to extract, so much as it is to softly infuse. This drinks like a savory rosé.
