Located in the hamlet of San Felice, of Castelnuovo Berardenga, Giovanna Morganti is quickly rising the ranks as one of the top producers in Chianti. She owns three hectares of vine, all planted to indigenous varieties, Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo, Colorino, Foglia tonda Mammolo and Prugnolo. Chiesamonti is from single 1.3-hectare parcel called Chiesa Monti, where the 10-year-old vines consist of almost all Sangiovese with a touch of Canaiolo. Due to the stony nature of the soil here, this wine has a linear and granular tannin.
Soil: Stony limestone, lower in clay
Viticulture: Practicing Organic with some biodynamic practices.
