Giovanna Morganti's father was a renowned oenologist who recognized the potential of Tuscan varietals long before they became trendy among "flying consultants." Podere Le Boncie, located in the hamlet of San Felice just north of Castelnuovo Berardenga in the southern Chianti Classico zone, was his pride and joy.

Following in her father's footsteps, Giovanna pursued a degree in oenology and later worked on a project for San Felice wines in the mid-1980s. The project involved planting around 300 traditional Tuscan grape varieties collected from old vineyards. When her father gifted her with a small farm that had olive groves, called Le Boncie, Giovanna added a vineyard with her favorite varietals from the experimental project, including Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo, Colorino, Foglia Tonda, Mammolo, and Prugnolo.

Cinque is a blend of the five native red varietals that grow on her property. The proportions of each grape may change depending on the vintage. This is an exceptional representation of the region. An elegant Burgundian style of red wine coming from Tuscany.
