Located in the hamlet of San Felice, of Castelnuovo Berardenga, Giovanna Morganti is quickly rising the ranks as one of the top producers in Chianti. She owns three hectares of vine, all planted to indigenous varieties, Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo, Colorino, Foglia tonda Mammolo and Prugnolo. Le Trame is her estate wine. The vineyard lies at an altitude of 300-350 meters; the average vine age is 15 years. The production is about 1000 cases total, and only about 30% of the wines are sent to the United States. This wine can be described as wildly elegant. Dark savory red fruits, gripping tannins and crushed roses leap from the glass. A long time favorite for us.
