Pormenor 'A de Arinto,' Douro, Portugal 2021

Pormenor 'A de Arinto,' Douro, Portugal 2021
Pormenor Vinhos is the dream of owner and winemaker, Pedro Coelho to free himself from the bounds of tradition in the Douro Valley. His ethos is locked in on the potential for Douro wines to show freshness, restrained alcohol, and elegance. The Arinto vines used to make this wine come from a single plot at 650m at Plateau of Alijó. The grapes are macerated for 12 hrs, followed by a gentle extraction. Fermentation and aging happen in neutral oak barrels for 10 months, finishing 2 month in steel before being bottled. The finished wine is a beautiful expression of grape and terroir, with aromas of dry grass, apple, and marzipan. Lemon peel, medium body with a salty, citrus finish. Will benefit from decanting prior to drinking.
