Eben Sadie is considered one of the great preservationists and visionaries in the new generation of South African winemakers. To Eben, the vineyard and fruit are part of the story. Grapes for the Mev. Kirsten are from a vineyard planted in between 1905–1920s, at the foot of Bothmaskop Mountain in Stellenbosch’s Jonkershoek Valley. The mere one ha of vines belonging to Mrs. Kirsten and her family is recognized as the oldest Chenin Blanc in South Africa! Naturally fermented with wild yeasts in old wooden foudres. This is Chenin Blanc in an older school of expression and more eccentric of nature, with more tropical and big ripe stone fruit aromas. This will benefit from some age.

Grape: Chenin Blanc

Soil: Decomposed Granite

Viticulture: Sustainable
