If aged for a period, this wine will be sure to reward the patience wine aficionado. For those of us with less patience, sweet spice and balsamic perfume this complex wine. The tannins are grippy and intense and lead to a long finish of dried thyme & oregano and rich plum. The vintner, Giuseppe “Giugi” Sesti, believes that any chemical intervention damages the delicacy of Sangiovese thus his vines are farmed organically. Additionally, minimal cellar intervention results in wines that express the nature of Giugi’s southernly exposed vineyards that lie on the slopes of Montalcino.
